You know the worry: money sent for a fridge becomes school fees, a favour, anything but the fridge. On Walupi you do not send money to a person; you pay for a specific thing, and Walupi holds the money until the person you name confirms it arrived.
How it works from abroad
Three steps, and the money moves only at the end.
Pay from anywhere. The person you name in Ghana does the receiving; the money stays with Walupi until they confirm.
Order and name the receiver
Pick from the catalogue or an open run, and add who receives it: their name and Ghana number. They get every delivery update by SMS; no app needed.
Watch the sealed trail
The supplier receipt, the waybill, the customs papers, the handover photo: each is sealed the moment it is taken and open for you to inspect from anywhere.
Only you release the money
Your money sits with Walupi, not the runner, until delivery is confirmed. A problem keeps it held until our team resolves it.
Paying from outside Ghana
Today you pay with a Ghana MoMo wallet, which many people abroad keep active. Card payment for international buyers is on its way with our payment partner; until then, a trusted person in Ghana can also approve the MoMo payment while you name yourself the one watching the trail.
Every pesewa is recorded in a sealed ledger. Your receipt lists each movement with its reference, and nothing on it can be edited afterwards, not even by us.
